Seeking spring sunshine and a chance to sing in some iconic venues, we flew to Italy in April 2019, to stay in the panoramic resort of Montecatini Terme in Tuscany.
We sang a range of popular choral pieces in three locations, directed by our former conductor, Giles Turner and accompanied, often on distant organs, by our regular accompanist, Adrian Moore.
For our first concert we were welcomed to the beautiful cathedral in the centre of Pistoia to sing before its splendid silver altar.
The next day, we travelled to Lucca for an exploration of the city and a concert in the magnificent cathedral, where we were recorded for Italian television.
Our final venue was in Florence, just around the corner from the famous Duomo, after a city walking tour and a chance to soak up the atmosphere of this great cultural city.
The tour remains a wonderful memory as we look forward to further adventures to come.
