We Zoomed – now we’ve resumed!

Faced with the challenges of keeping in touch with members and having the chance to sing during the isolation of the pandemic, we decided to run Zoom sessions on our usual practice night.

We were fortunate to find two inspiring conductors to direct us. The internationally renowned tenor, Justin Lavender provided valuable exercises in voice production and technique while introducing us to some opera choruses.
On alternate weeks, we linked up across the globe with Justin Macosky directing us from Canada. We learnt four pieces of contemporary music in complete contrast to the operatic pieces.

Despite the limitations of being unable to enjoy singing together as a choir, Zoom sessions allowed us to keep in touch and to learn some new material which we shall be using in a future concert.
